Which TikTok fields take a new font
You can change the font in four places on TikTok. The fifth, your @username, only accepts plain characters.

Step by step
To style your TikTok bio or name: type your text, tap Copy on a style, open TikTok, go to Profile then Edit profile, and paste into the Name or Bio field. For a styled caption or comment, just paste while you're typing it. One honest limit — TikTok's @username handle only allows letters, numbers, underscores and periods, so fancy fonts work in your display name, bio and captions, not the @handle. A few rarer symbol styles may show as boxes on some phones, so preview before you save.

Can I put a fancy font in my TikTok @username?
No — the @username (handle) is restricted to letters, numbers, '_' and '.'. You can, however, style your display Name and Bio, which is where most people want the fancy font anyway.
Why do some fonts look like empty boxes on TikTok?
A box appears when a device or app doesn't have a glyph for a rarer Unicode style. Stick to widely-supported styles (bold, italic, cursive, small caps) for the broadest compatibility, and check on your own phone first.
Do I need to download anything?
No. The styled text is just special Unicode characters generated in your browser, so you only copy and paste — nothing to install on TikTok or your phone.
How do I add or change text on a TikTok video?
Use TikTok's own editor. TikTok's Help Center page "Editing TikTok videos and photos" (checked October 14, 2026) gives the steps: tap Add post + at the bottom, take a photo or video or upload one (if you upload, tap Next first), tap Edit on the side panel, then tap Text at the bottom, enter your text and tap Continue ✓. To change it later, tap the text on the preview screen or tap Edit at the bottom. That page doesn't cover the editor's text styles, and it doesn't say whether pasted styled text displays in the editor. If you try a style from above, preview it before you post, since some styles may not show on every device.
