Why do 's' and 'x' look normal-sized?
Unicode never assigned dedicated small-capital glyphs for a few letters, so they fall back to the regular character. Every other letter converts cleanly.
Is small caps the same as 'tiny text'?
Close — small caps are small uppercase letters. There's also a separate superscript/subscript style for genuinely raised or lowered tiny text.
