Where styled text works on TikTok
Your TikTok profile has a Name (TikTok calls it a nickname) and an @username. Styled text is for the Name, the bio, captions and comments; preview it before you post, because a few rare characters show as boxes on some phones. The @username follows a stricter rule.

How to use tiktok fonts
TikTok renders Unicode in your bio, display name, and video captions, so these styles show up for everyone who visits your profile. Bold, cursive, and small-caps are the most reliable across phones; very rare symbol styles can show as boxes on a few older Androids, so preview before you post. For your @username, TikTok is stricter — bios and display names are the safe place for styled text.

How do I change the font in my TikTok bio?
Type your text above, tap copy on the style you like, then in TikTok go to Edit profile → Bio and paste. The Unicode characters keep their style after pasting.
Why do some fonts show as squares on TikTok?
That phone doesn't have a glyph for that rare character. Stick to the well-supported styles (bold, italic, cursive, small caps, fullwidth) for the widest device coverage.
What font does TikTok itself use?
TikTok Sans. TikTok's Newsroom introduced it on May 17, 2023 as its own typeface, made with the type foundry Grilli Type, and TikTok released it as a free, open-source font on July 10, 2025. It is a font file, so you can't paste it into your bio. The styles on this page are Unicode letters, which is why they keep their look when you paste them.
Can I use a fancy font in my TikTok @username?
Put the styled version in your Name instead. TikTok's Help Center says a username may only contain letters, numbers, underscores and periods, must be 2 to 24 characters, can't end with a period, and can be changed once every 30 days. Your Name (TikTok calls it your nickname) is the name other people see, and that is where styled text belongs.
